Capacity-Building Training on Fire Preparedness and Disaster Risk Awareness for Displaced Persons

  On May 21, 2025, COERR Mae Sariang organized a training session on fire preparedness and disaster risk awareness to displaced persons in Mae La Ma Luang temporary shelter, Mae Hong Son province. The training topics included 1) Types of fire-related disasters and their causes, 2) Natural disasters such as falling trees, broken branches, and landslides, 3) Disasters that occurs frequently in Mae La Ma Luang temporary shelter that require constant monitoring, 4) Basic technique for using a fire extinguishers, 5) Risk zones and safe areas in Mae La Ma Luang temporary shelter, 6) CPR techniques to save individuals who have fainted, lost consciousness, or whose pulse has stopped. The objective of the training was to raise awareness among the displaced community about basic disaster preparedness. It aimed to enhance their understanding of disasters, their causes, preventive measures, and risk reduction strategies. Community members were encouraged to work together in monitoring and protecting their environment to minimize disaster risks. Additionally, the training ensured participants could effectively use firefighting tools during emergencies.
